The film centers on (Christian Borromeo), a partially paralyzed teenager living on a large country estate in Viareggio with his parents. Andrea, frustrated by his physical limitations and rejections from local girls, spends much of his time spying on others through a telescope or keyholes, particularly focusing on his beautiful and unsatisfied mother, Alessia (Malisa Longo). After his father Giorgio dies in an accident, a handsome man named Massimo (Gabriele Tinti) buys the estate and begins wooing Alessia. This triggers a complex emotional and psychological conflict in Andrea, ultimately leading to a controversial resolution where his mother chooses him over Massimo to satisfy his long-denied needs.
