SP-DATEN (from the German SP Daten – "Service Pack Data" or "Programming Data") are the master data files used by BMW’s dealer-level diagnostic and programming systems (ISTA/P, WinKFP, and Tool32). Think of them as the "dictionary" or "firmware library" for every electronic control unit (ECU) in a BMW.
