The 4S-FE uses a speed-density system (MAP + RPM). Voltage at idle (manifold vacuum high): 1.5–2.0V. Voltage at WOT (low vacuum): 3.5–4.5V. A common failure is a cracked vacuum line to the MAP sensor, causing rich running and black smoke. Electrical Load Signal System
