Set in 2104, eleven years after the Prometheus expedition, the story follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant , which carries 2,000 colonists and over 1,000 embryos to a remote planet, Origae-6. After a neutrino burst damages the ship and kills their original captain, the crew intercepts a mysterious transmission from a nearby, seemingly "perfect" habitable world.
