The story follows (played by Priyanka Sarkar), a submissive homemaker who has endured years of relentless verbal abuse from her husband, Partha (played by Anujoy Chattopadhyay). Partha is a successful banking professional who appears to be a "good man" to society but is toxic and manipulative behind closed doors, frequently demeaning Jaya in both private and public settings.
The title Lojja (Shame) is a powerful motif throughout the series. It questions who should truly bear the shame: the victim who is unable to speak out due to societal pressure, or the perpetrator who acts with impunity?
As the psychological toll on Jaya reaches a breaking point—exacerbated by a lack of support from her own mother and in-laws who urge her to "adjust"—she begins a journey to reclaim her self-worth. The narrative shifts from her initial endurance to a legal and personal battle against the societal norms that excuse mental and emotional violence as long as it is not physical.
